APLIKASI MESIN PEMERAS SENTRIFUGAL UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PRODUKTIFITAS PEMBUTAN VCO
Abstrak
Coconut processing that still uses traditional methods is of course inefficient considering the length of time it takes to squeeze and also requires a lot of energy for extortion. The purpose of this research is to apply a centrifugal power press to virgin coconut oil (VCO) craftsmen in Selumbung village. This machine is a device used to squeeze coconut milk by using a rotary process on a filter that applies centrifugal force. The working principle of this machine is to use the rotation generated by an electric motor connected to the coconut filter drum. In this filter tube is placed grated coconut and the filter will rotate when the connecting shaft rotates, as a result of this process the coconut milk will be separated from the grated coconut. This machine is an alternative as a substitute for extortionist that uses human power to become engine power. The implementation of this machine is expected to increase the productivity of the VCO produced. The results show that, the implementation of the centrifugal coconut squeezer machine was able to reduce production time by 40% with the quality and quantity of coconut milk produced better than the conventional amount of coconut milk produced.
