PENGARUH DENSITAS KANDANG TERHADAP BEBERAPA VARIABEL KESEHATAN KAMBING PERANAKAN ETAWAH DI DESA PEMPATAN KARANGASEM BALI

Abstrak




Kepadatan kandang, frekuensi membersihkan, dan tipe kandang berpengaruh terhadap kenyamanan dan ling- kungan kandang sekaligus kesehatan kambing. Namun manfaat kandang bagi kesehatan ternak belum banyak diaplikasikan oleh peternak kambing di Bali. Penelitian ini dilakukan dari Maret hingga Juli 2021 untuk mengeta- hui pengaruh densitas kandang terhadap variabel kesehatan kambing PE yang dipelihara oleh peternak kambing di Desa Pempatan. Rancangan penelitian Compare Means T-test dengan dua perbandingan kandang densitas 3 m2/ekor dan 2,1 m2/ekor tiga ulangan dengan total 90 ekor kambing digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Peubah yang diamati adalah skor FAMACHA©, berat badan, PBBH, endo-parasit, angka sel darah merah dan darah putih kam- bing. Hasil menunjukkan kandang densitas 3 m2/ekor dan 2,1 m2/ekor berbeda tidak nyata untuk semua variabel kesehatan, kecuali jumlah Paramphistomum sp. dimana semua kambing pada kandang densitas 3 m2/ekor tidak terinfeksi sementara rerata 1,11 ± 0,76 TTGT pada kambing densitas 2,1 m2/ekor. Ostertagia sp., maupun Hae- moncus contortus sp. menginfeksi kambing pada kedua densitas kandang, namun tergolong infeksi ringan. Kan- dang densitas 3 dan 2,1 m2/ekor memiliki PBBH masing-masing 81,74 ± 32,01 g dan 48,29 ± 25,51 g, secara berurut. Kambing dalam penelitian memiliki standar kambing sehat. Simpulan, kambing-kambing pada kandang densitas 3 m2/ekor cenderung memiliki status kesehatan yang lebih baik.
