POTENSI SUPLEMENTASI SMALL-QUANTITY LIPID-BASED NUTRIENT PRENATAL DAN POSTNATAL SEBAGAI PENCEGAHAN ANEMIA DEFISIENSI BESI PADA ANAK DI BAWAH USIA DUA TAHUN

Abstrak

Pendahuluan: Anemia Defisiensi Besi (ADB) merupakan masalah kesehatan masyarakat di Indonesia. Dampak utama ADB pada anak adalah peningkatan risiko gangguan kognitif dan psikomotor permanen yang dapat menyebabkan penurunan kualitas hidup di masa dewasa. Rekomendasi suplementasi zat besi untuk ibu hamil dan anak memiliki efek samping yang tidak nyaman dan menyebabkan kepatuhan terapi yang kurang optimal. Small quantity lipid-based nutrient supplement (SQ-LNS) dikembangkan sebagai upaya fortifikasi besi baru untuk wanita hamil dan menyusui serta anak-anak. Tujuan tinjauan pustaka ini adalah menganalisis efektivitas suplementasi SQ-LNS untuk mencegah ADB pada anak di bawah usia dua tahun.


Metode: Tinjauan pustaka dibuat dengan kriteria PICOS dan studi klinis yang sesuai dengan kriteria inklusi diekstraksi dari database "PUBMED", "Cochrane", dan "Europe-PMC".


Hasil dan Pembahasan: 10 studi diinklusi dalam tinjauan pustaka. Biomarker ADB seperti Hemoglobin, serum Ferritin, dan soluble transferrin receptor (sTfR) secara signifikan lebih baik pada kelompok SQ-LNS dibandingkan dengan kontrol. Prevalensi anemia, defisiensi besi, dan anemia defisiensi besi lebih rendah pada kelompok SQ-LNS dibandingkan dengan kontrol. SQ-LNS juga meningkatkan kadar Hepcidin dan meningkatkan pertumbuhan serta perkembangan anak ditunjukkan oleh skor length-for-age z score, skor weight-for-age z scores, dan skor perkembangan lokomotor yang lebih tinggi, serta prevalensi stunting yang lebih rendah.


Kesimpulan: Suplementasi SQ-LNS pada ibu hamil, ibu menyusui, dan anak di bawah dua tahun berpotensi untuk mengoptimalkan kadar Hb, Ferritin serum, sTfR, serta mencegah ADB pada anak dan mendukung tumbuh kembang anak.
