UPAYA DIPLOMASI INDONESIA SEBAGAI NEGARA MARITIM MENGGUNAKAN KAPAL PINISI
Abstrak
Indonesias efforts to place a miniature phinisi ship at the International Court of Justice for the Law of the Sea which was successfully displayed in 2019 is the most significant effort to elevate Indonesia''s image on the international stage. In this way, Indonesia strives for the Phinisi Ship to be used to be able to pursue its interests to become a world maritime axis country. This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods to further explore social phenomena with the aim of gaining depth in a study. This study uses secondary data as a data source. Country analysis is used to examine countries in achieving their interests in diplomacy in the international arena. The government involves pinisi ships for various purposes as a form of effort to improve nation branding as a world maritime nation. Another interest is to carry out public diplomacy in order to promote identity as a maritime country as well as for economic and tourism interests. This was done by involving the phinisi ship in a series of Wonderful Indonesia activities, the Travel Mart, the registration of the phinisi ship with UNESCO to the laying of miniatures at ITLOS. The value possessed by the pinisi ship as a representation of the Indonesian state continues to be used as a nation branding to achieve the image of the Indonesian state as a world maritime country. The spread of this branding is strengthened by a series of public diplomacy efforts. All of this aims to show Indonesia as a country with maritime power and is more respected and involved in various international maritime issues.
